Éva Á. Csató Johanson receives award
Professor em. Éva Á. Csató Johanson was awarded the Gold Medal of the International Turkic Academy ‟for invaluable contribution to the development of science of the Turkic world”. The distinction was handed over to her on the 17th of August 2018 at the 19th International Conference on Turkish Linguistics in Astana, Kazakhstan, by the president of the Academy, Professor Darkhan Kydyrali.

Research award to Lars Johanson
Professor Dr. Dr. h.c. Lars Johanson, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany, and Uppsala University, Sweden, was awarded the Vilhelm Thomsen Medal of the International Turkic Academy for the study of Old Turkic. The distinction was handed over to him by the president of the Academy on the 30th of April 2018 at the international forum “Revival of Identity and Promoting Heritage″ organized by the UNESCO in Paris.

Q&R17: New research assessment at UU
Uppsala University is currently conducting its third University-wide research assessment: “Quality and Renewal 2017” (Q&R17). This time, the focus is on preconditions and processes for maximising research quality. The aim is to strengthen Uppsala University’s research in the long term, and one means is to clarify how working methods and environments can be developed.
