Syntactic Analysis: Final seminar
During the final seminar we will discuss issues related to the assignments and to the course in general.
Preparation
During the seminar we will discuss your results on the two practical assignments, assignment 2 and 4. In order to do this you will need to bring the results and code for assignment 2, and your report for assignment 4, which should include all your results, the settings you used, and your evaluation script. Print this and bring it to the seminar. If you did a VG task for assignment 2 or 4, also prepare to briefly present to the others what you did and how it affacted the results.
We will also discuss general issues related to parsing, both related to the two written assignment, 1 and 3, and to other issues discussed during the course. To drive this discussion you should all bring two questions or issues related to the course. We will then discuss these issues and questions together. Your issues and questions should also be handed in. You are free to formulate any types of questions/issues related to the course and assignments. It could be something that you think would be interesting to discuss more, something that was hard to grasp, some idea you have about how something could potentially be improved/changed/evaluated in different ways, or any other issue you could think of. Try to formulate your questions/issues so they invite discussions.
In summary you should bring the following to the seminar:
- The results on assignment 2 and the code for your parser
- The report for assignment 4, including the code you wrote for computing LAS.
- If you did a VG task for assignment 2 and/or 4, also prepare to briefly present to the others what you did and how it affacted the results.
- Two questions or issues related to parsing, which could be based on either the assignments, or related to other issues discussed during the course or found in the course books. These questions/issues should be handed in on paper.
