Instruction for Presenters

The following instructions for presenters are applicable for all sessions in the NODALIDA 2015 Main Conference. Please do not hesitate to contact the program chair (nodalida15@stp.lingfil.uu.se) or the local organizers (lki@lki.lt) if you require additional information to prepare for the conference.

Please check the conference website for the exact time allocation for your presentation (see http://www2.lingfil.uu.se/nodalida2015/ -> Program).

Each room is equipped with a laptop computer and a data projector. The computers used for presentations will have wired internet. You are also welcome to use your own laptop.

Please arrive at your session at least 15 minutes prior to the start of your session; you should introduce yourself to the session chair and check that your presentation can be displayed properly in your session room.

Long talks are allotted 25 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for questions from the audience. Please ensure that your presentation does not exceed 25 minutes in length. Your presentation should highlight the problem(s) addressed by your research, describe the approach/methodology used to address these problems, discuss evaluation of your results, and compare your work to other research.

Lightning talks are allotted 20 minutes for presentation; questions will be held until the associated poster session. Please ensure that your presentation does not exceed 20 minutes in length. Presentations that exceed 20 minutes will be stopped by the session chair in order to allow the other presenters to have their full allotted time. Your presentation should highlight the key points of your research and its novel contributions, the approach/methods used to address these problems, and encourage the audience to attend your poster presentation for further details about your work.

Poster presentations will be held in the lobby. The space available for your poster will be 90 cm wide and 125 cm high, which is (a little more than) A0 in portrait orientation. Try to use visual aids like figures, diagrams, cartoons, colors on your poster to show the research idea and the logical flow of the contents. It might be helpful to prepare mini-talks from 30 seconds to a couple of minutes to explain the content of your work. Please avoid leaving your poster without a presenter during the allotted poster session.

For software demonstrations, we will provide a table with a chair, an electric outlet (220/230 V), a poster easel (usable board area 90cm x 125cm), and Ethernet connection. It might be helpful to prepare mini-talks from 30 seconds to a couple of minutes to explain the content of your work. Please avoid leaving your demo without a presenter during the demo session.
