Manuscripts should not exceed c. 30 pages. Contributors are asked to send disks with text files from any word-processing program, together with the manuscripts.
Contributors are requested to use a Unicode font, such as Palatino Linotype, for Greek characters.
The Greek font should always be sent along with the text file.
The contributor’s name should be accompanied by his or her title, position and address.
The names of ancient authors and works, as well as unfamiliar names, should be written in full. Otherwise, the abbreviations should preferably be those listed for Greek authors in the Oxford Classical Dictionary, for Latin authors in the Thesaurus Linguae Latinae. Byzantinists are advised to use the bibliographic abbreviations found in Dumbarton Oaks Papers and, if they are writing in English, to spell Byzantine names according to the Oxford Dictionary of Byzantium.
When articles in periodicals are quoted, both the volume number and the year of publication should be given, thus: Eranos 74, 1976, pp. 22–27.
All citations from Latin texts should be italicized. Titles of books and periodicals should also be italicized, whereas those of articles should be marked by double quotes.
Examples:
1. Douglas E.
Gerber, A Bibliography of Pindar, 1513–1966.
(American Philological Association, Monograph 28.) Case Western
Contributors will be sent first proofs of their articles, but normally not revised proofs. For financial reasons, changes (as against corrections of misprints) cannot, as a rule, be accepted at proof stage.
Thirty copies of articles are supplied free of charge to contributors. Extra copies are supplied at special rates.
